Winuply Press is pleased to announce the release of the Writing Masterclass for Parents of Young Children.
Author Holly Winter Huppert designed, wrote and recorded the masterclass. She stated that she wanted to help families understand the writing process as their children continue to learn at home during the pandemic.
The masterclass teaches about all aspects of the writing acquisition for young children from the 3 premises of learning, to chronological writing levels to the 10 Tips that help keep children learning.
Topics include functional writing, independent vs. supported writing, choice in writing, storytelling, invented spelling and more.
Huppert goes over current research trends in the teaching of young writers and even includes current research on how the pandemic affects parents.
Huppert doesn't recommend handwriting instruction, rewriting or editing for young children. She gives many tips about how to play with words, how to praise children's efforts and several ways to tell stories as a family to help children hear their lives as a narrative.
The class is available on YouTube for free. There are no requirements for watching it and you do not have to enter any credit card information or email address to access it.
The class is 2 hours and 40 minutes long. Huppert claims that she included "Every bit of information that I could think of."

There is no handbook for being a parent, but thanks to Huppert there is now a Masterclass for how to help your child write from level to level to level.
